Seattle Wedding Photographer

Over the past year I have heard of a few of Twittered marriage proposals, but this video posted to YouTube recently takes the cake for the most unconventional Twitter and Facebook updates. During his wedding ceremony, Dana Hanna whipped out his mobile device and not only changed his relationship status to married on Facebook, but also sent out a tweet announcing that the couple had become man and wife. The whole scene was captured on tape and posted to YouTube, so you too can check out the non-traditional altar activities of the newlyweds. Dana explained his actions by saying “I have a lot of family scattered around the country and we all use Facebook a lot to keep in touch. So when Tracy and I were engaged, most of my family found out via Facebook because we updated our statuses. I surprised not only my guests, but also Tracy by pulling out my phone and posting on Facebook and Twitter from the altar during out wedding. This was just done to be funny – we really don’t Facebook THAT often. I had her phone ready in my pocket, so when she asked for it I could hand it to her. No one knew about this except the minister, and myself.”

Although I am an occasional Twitterer and somewhat avid Facebook user, updating my status at the altar falls somewhere outside my comfort zone. Let us wish wish the social media super users a lifetime of happiness together.
