I had photographed Mollie and Justin’s engagement in the Seattle Arboretum last year and we had a good time walking around making pictures there and it was fun working with them. Months later then I again had a great time photographing their wedding at Willows Lodge in Woodinville, WA The garden at the Willows Lodge, which is just across from the famous Herb Farm restaurant, is a great location for an outdoor wedding and the ballroom perfect for a reception. Mollie and Justin had a warm, and wonderful wedding there. The wedding ceremony was in the gazebo which was really stunning and was adorned by a beautiful floral arrangement. I like shooting weddings there because there are so many places to go off and do pictures with different backgrounds. The panorama large group portrait was easy to do there as well. I will post it sometime later. Here are some selected highlights and a web gallery with some more just below.

Mollie and Justin asked me to shoot them with this sign for the thank you card they were planning to send out to their guests.

Conan O’Brien Taunts NBC – His Last Tonight Show Tonight – Conan O’Brien’s Wedding Photo
January 22nd, 2010
Tonight is Conan O’Brien’s last night as host of NBC’s The Tonight Show. No one would begrudge him some bitterness over his being forced out, but he’s taking it and having some fun with it. Share on Facebook
I don’t know if you have been following the Conan O’Brien and NBC saga but on Wednesday night Conan got back at NBC by spending more than $1 million of NBC’s cash before he leaves the show. Conan O’Brien’s unveiled his show’s newest character, the “Bugatti Veyron Mouse,” a $2 million Bugatti Veyron, which claims to be the world’s most expensive car.
“The good news is, until NBC yanks us off the air, we can pretty much do whatever we want,” O’Brien told the audience. “And here’s the beautiful part: We do whatever we want, and they have to pay for it.”
Interesting enough, since word got out about Conan’s departure the ratings for his show are up more than 50%.
Conan O’Brien’s Wedding Photography – Liza and Conan walk down the aisle at St. James Cathedral
You may be interested to learn that on Saturday January 12th, 2002, I was Conan O’Brien’s wedding photographer when he married Seattle native, Liza Powel, at St. James Cathedral, during a downpour. The ceremony was private and was attended by close friends and family. Here is the one photo that they agreed to release to the press.
The bride, daughter of Seattle Dixieland band-leader Jake Powel, wore a Vera Wang white, empire-waisted gown which was covered by a lace floor length coat. She carried a matching purse and red roses. O’Brien wore a dark suit, white shirt and cream tie. Conan is abut 6’6″ and Liza is almost as tall.
It was a really fun wedding to photograph. Conan was kind of camera shy for the first part of the day. I found it hard to understand at first but then I realized that he works around cameras and is very conscious of them and it was hard for him to relax and be his true self. My camera must have made him feel like he was working and he did not want to feel that way on his wedding day. He did relax later on at the reception at Union Station, and he seemed to be unaware of me making the pictures there. He even got up at one point and played guitar with his house band from the show, The Max Weinberg 7. It was really great.

Masquerade Ball Wedding Panorama Photo
January 21st, 2010
Here is the large group panorama wedding photograph from Monte Whitbeck and Annette Barniville’s wedding celebration, a Black and White Masquerade Wedding party on Halloween at the Tibbetts Creek Manor, in Issaquah. It was a rocking good celebration of Monte and Annettes wedding which actually took place not long before in Fiji and they just wanted to celebrate it with all of their close family and friends and Halloween was a great time for a party.

Seattle Tennis Club Wedding – A Jewish Wedding Ceremony
January 20th, 2010
The goom got hoisted up onto a chair as his friends dance to the music and raised and lowered him up and down.
Some of my favorite weddings were from the summer and here is a selection of some highlight photos from a wedding at the Seattle Tennis Club in August. I really love witnessing the dancing of the Hora. It often makes for such great photos as these two which I will start off this blog post with.
It is traditional at Jewish weddings to include a section of Hebrew music and dancing known as a ‘Hora’ which comprises a medley of popular Jewish tunes, including Hava Nagila (‘come let us be glad’), and Siman Tov U Mazleltov (‘may good luck come to us’).
During this section of the dancing it’s also traditional for the guests to dance together in a big circle, with the newly married couple hoisted into the air on chairs .
Laura has her turn being hoisted into the air.

Wedding at The Seattle Tennis Club. First Look
Here is the groom getting the first look of his bride to be from all angles at the entrance to the Seattle Tennis Club on a extremely rare rainy Sunday in mid August. What a beautiful dress.
The bride and groom’s spirits remained high all day despite the fact that the wedding which was supposed to take place outside on the grass, got moved indoors due to the constant rain. We were hoping it would blow away but it never did. The chance of a sunny day for their date was supposed to be 99.7%.
