Baby Sam is 30 Days Old

February 26th, 2010

Tom and Lisa were married a few years ago and I was at their wedding for them. Then their first child Francis was born two years and I photographed her. Just about a month ago Sam arrived. Now it was his turn for me to make some baby pictures.
Sam was napping when I arrived. I let sleeping baby sleep. Nothing cuter than a sleeping baby.

Except for a yawning baby.

Sam was not happy when he woke up and saw me with my camera in his face. I can not blame him.

Lisa gave him a topping off which put him in a better mood.

Then Francis came over to get in on the fun. I will post a separate entry for a few of her pictures later.

Here is the large group wedding panorama portrait of everyone at Erin and Clives wedding. I almost hate to post them on the blog because they look so small compared to the original print I give client which measure 12″ x 36″ . At that size you can clearly see all the detail of everyone in the photo. Something gets lost seeing it at this size and resolution. All photographs on this website are by Daniel Sheehan © 2010. Seattle Golf Club Wedding

February 22nd, 2010

Erin and Clive were married at the Florence Henry Memorial Chapel in The Highlands, and had their reception at the nearby Seattle Golf Club. It was a beautiful June wedding at Seattle Golf Club with all the grounds looking spotless and flowers blooming everywhere. After the ceremony at the Chapel everyone walked over to the Golf Club for the reception.

We made some family portraits outside the Chapel and wedding party photos at the beginning of the Golf Course. The light was fantastic and warm, just before sunset. Kirstie Warren of Simply Wed was the wedding planner and coordinator and everything went so smoothly. It was a joy working together with her again

The Florence Henry Memorial Chapel is an historic place with a rich heritage, wonderful works of art, and a building set in the natural beauty of its wooded surroundings. W. Marberry Somervell designed it and next year it will celebrate its 100th year. The Chapel has a marble bas-relief of the Last Supper that was carved for the Italian exhibit of the 1909 Alaska-Yukon-Pacific Exposition. The bas-relief can be seen in the pictures of Clive and Erin at the altar. Horace and Susan Henry, donors of the Chapel, purchased the carving when the Exhibition closed and had it installed over the altar in a specially carved wood.

Outside the grounds are graced with other works of art. It is a great place for a wedding when not a large number of guest are in attendance. The room for the brides party to prepare for the wedding is splendid and was redecorated a few years ago. Nisha Kelen of Fleurish did all of the flowers from the decorations inside and outside the Chapel to the bouquets for Erin and bridesmaids to the boutonnieres for Clive and his groomsmen they looked wonderful. Above is Erin with her bouquet. Below she is with her bridsmaids.

Above exchanging vows in the Chapel, note the bas-relief behind them above the altar.

At the end of the evening, Erin and Clive made their getaway in a vintage Caddlic limo from the early 1950′s.  Below is a gallery with a complete selection of highlights from their Seattle Golf Club Wedding.

Shauna is expecting her first child and asked me to capture and document her baby belly. Shauna and her partner have decided to wait until the baby comes before learning if it will be a boy or a girl preferring to be surprised when their child is born.

Here is another view of the baby belly bumping out from a robe given her by her mother. The newborn baby could be either a boy or girl. We will have to wait 2-3 weeks to know for sure. Whoever it will be I will photograph their child not long after their newborn baby arrives.

Ryan and Christine were delighted to see the Valentine theme decorated wedding bed at their suite at the W Hotel as Ryan carried Christine over the threshold in the age old tradition. The giant heart made of chocolates surrounded by red rose petals took them by complete surprise as they entered their wedding chamber. It was after all the eve of Valentines Day so it might have been suspected that one of their friends or sisters might have sprung the surprise on them. I am sorry I did not stay long after this picture was made so you will have to check with Ryan and Christine to see how many chocolates were left for the morning.

I just wanted to post a couple of quick pictures today. I still have to go over the whole mass of images, process and edit them down to a presentable collection to tell the story of their wedding day. Christine and Ryan both had had a long day of wedding preparations. They were married at a ceremony at the First Free Methodist Church on Queen Anne. The reception was at the fabulous Sodo Park and there was a lot of dancing after some great food by Herban Feast.

Then when it came time to leave it was pouring rain. The streets of Seattle look great at night in the dark and wet reflections of streetlights, traffic lights and building signs bouncing of the puddles. It reminds me why they sometimes hose down the pavement before shooting a movie at night. It makes the city look alive.

Ryan shook hands with their driver as Christine heads for the lobby out of the rain, after they exited the Bentley which brought them from Sodo Park to the W Hotel. When they entered the lobby and headed for the registration desk, the people in the lounge gave them a hand of applause as they went by. Everyone had a big smile on their face as we strode past including the security man by the elevators.
