Crystal Hill and John Pennington were married on June 6th with their ceremony at the Duvall Church. Afterwards everyone came out in front of the church for this panoramic wedding portrait before heading  down the street for the reception at the Duvall Grange Cafe.

Troy Wadsworth and Heidi Schumacher were married on May 23rd on board the historic Skansonia Ferry on the north shore of Lake Union in Seattle. It was a perfect day weather wise considering how cool it turned later on in the month and throughout June. Here are some of the highlights from the wedding pictures along with a mini web gallery below.

Heidi holds the rings before the ceremony.

The kiss marking  the conclusion of the ceremony.

The walk down the aisle afterwards.

The first dance.

The moon was shining bright upon the newly married couple on the stern of the Skansonia during a break from the dancing.

Heidi and Troy were one of the happiest looking couples I photographed in quite a while and I often caught them sharing a laugh together.

All for one and one for all.

At the end of the evening they headed off. For a more complete set of the highlights click on the web gallery below.

Mary Bright and Michael Ferrante were married at St. Joseph’s Church in Issaquah on April 10th. Unlike the weather we have been having the past week or so, it was a beautiful day for a northwest spring weekend wedding. Here we got everyone at the ceremony to come out behind St Joseph’s for a large group wedding panorama portrait.

Bonnie and Michael were really in love and with their family and friends present were married in a Jewish ceremony at the The Edgewater Hotel on the waterfront near downtown Seattle. Their day was filled with a lot of love and laughs. The ceremony was touching and their celebration was filled with joy and lots of dancing. The view at the beautiful Edgewater Hotel in Seattle is amazing since the hotel is literally on the edge of the Puget Sound, it sits out on a long pier jutting into Elliot Bay. Below are a few of my favorite images highlighting their wedding day. Although I shot a lot of color, they and I really liked the way the pictures look in black and white. There is a certain timeless look. I am looking forward to shooting more black and white film weddings this year. I just booked one where the couple really like black and white, so I am planning to shoot about half of the images with my pair of Leicas.

The large group wedding panorama of all of Mychal and Sunita’s family and friends taken after the wedding ceremony.

Mychal and Sunita had a traditional Indian wedding at the Alderbrook Resort and it was spectacular. The Alderbrook Resort and Spa have stunning views of the Olympics and the Hood Canal. The Indian wedding ceremony was held outdoors right on the water front and so the views were in the background of most of the wedding pictures. I will post some more from this wedding soon.

This panaramic large group wedding portrait shows everyone at Sheryl and Andy’s wedding in July, which was held at the wonderful The Ruins, one of the best kept wedding secret venues in Seattle. It looks plain and industrial on the outside but extravagant and opulent on the inside. All of the family and guest were invited to come outside so we could make their  large group wedding panorama right on the sidewalk in front of the entrance to The Ruins. On a computer monitor, these panoramas look kind of puny compared to the original print I give Sheryl and Andy which measured 12″ x 36″.  At that size you can clearly see all the detail of everyone in the photo. The Ruins is a most interesting venue with some really great food. It is mainly a private dining club. My first visit there was to photograph the rehearsal dinner for Conan O’Brien and his bride to be Liza Powel.

Ryan Ferrer and Christine Liebsack were married on the eve of Valentine’s Day at the First Free Methodist Church on Queen Anne. Above Christine is getting ready at the church. After the ceremony everyone headed over to the reception which was at SODO Park, a great place for a party with wonderful food provided by Herban Feast. I stayed behind for a little while at the church with Christine and Ryan, as they did a little cleanup of the rose petals on the aisle, and  for their limo to arrive. We stopped by on the way to SODO Park, at Kerry Park, on top of Queen Anne,  for some photographs with the Seattle skyline in the background.
Although all of the photos were originally shot in color, and will be presented in color in their slide show on the website shortly, I decided to convert the highlight pictures for the blog to black and white to show how great they work without any color. The black and white images look so classic and timeless. I usually convert a number for the final selection for my wedding albums an books because of this timeless factor. Here are the pictures I choose to highlight the wedding in black and white. They are mainly the candid photographs presented here. All of the rest will be in a web gallery in color along with the slide show on the main web site.

Ryan and Christine were delighted to see the Valentine theme decorated wedding bed at their suite at the W Hotel as Ryan carried Christine over the threshold in the age old tradition. The giant heart made of chocolates surrounded by red rose petals took them by complete surprise as they entered their wedding chamber. It was after all the eve of Valentines Day so it might have been suspected that one of their friends or sisters might have sprung the surprise on them. I just had to post this one in color. Some pictures do look better for it.

There is a web gallery below here with the rest of the highlights.

Ryan and Christine kiss with the Seattle skyline behind them up in Kerry Park. We stopped for a few wedding pictures on our way to SODO Park for the wedding reception. I am almost finished with the edit and I can not wait to post some of the highlights from this wonderful couples wedding. They will be up very soon.
