Tonight is Conan O’Brien’s last night as host of NBC’s The Tonight Show. No one would begrudge him some bitterness over his being forced out, but he’s taking it and having some fun with it.

I don’t know if you have been following the Conan O’Brien and NBC saga but on Wednesday night  Conan got  back at NBC by spending more than $1 million of NBC’s cash before he leaves the show. Conan O’Brien’s unveiled his show’s newest character, the “Bugatti Veyron Mouse,” a $2 million Bugatti Veyron, which claims to be the world’s most expensive car.

“The good news is, until NBC yanks us off the air, we can pretty much do whatever we want,” O’Brien told the audience. “And here’s the beautiful part: We do whatever we want, and they have to pay for it.”

Interesting enough, since word got out about Conan’s departure the ratings for his show are up more than 50%.

Conan O’Brien’s Wedding Photo – Liza and Conan walk down the aisle at St. James Cathedral

You may be interested to learn that on Saturday January 12th, 2002, I was Conan O’Brien’s wedding photographer when he married Seattle native, Liza Powel, at St. James Cathedral, during a downpour. The ceremony was private and was attended by close friends and family. Here is the one photo that they agreed to release to the press.
The bride, daughter of Seattle Dixieland band-leader Jake Powel, wore a Vera Wang white, empire-waisted gown which was covered by a lace floor length coat. She carried a matching purse and red roses. O’Brien wore a dark suit, white shirt and cream tie. Conan is abut 6′6″ and Liza is almost as tall.
It was a really fun wedding to photograph. Conan was kind of camera shy for the first part of the day. I found it hard to understand at first but then I realized that he works around cameras and is very conscious of them and it was hard for him to relax and be his true self. My camera must have made him feel like he was working and he did not want to feel that way on his wedding day. He did relax later on at the reception at Union Station, and he seemed to be unaware of me making the pictures there. He even got up at one point and played guitar with his house band from the show, The Max Weinberg 7. It was really great.
