Allison and Sam are getting married in July so we went for an engagement shoot not long ago on the ferry from Seattle to Bainbridge Island. It was another one of these beautiful days we have been having all year and we had a lot of fun. Here are some of my favorites from the ride.

After waiting what seemed like eons for a nice and sunny weekend, Casey and Brandon and I finally got together on Sunday and made some portraits in the glorious weather. I did feel like spring has arrived and all of the buds in the trees confirmed that. Casey and Brandon will be getting married in May and it was good to spend some time hanging out with them before thew wedding. Brandon is a natural cutup and was a lot of fun to photograph. Casey is beautiful and they make a wonderful couple together. I made many pictures of them but Here are 8 of my favorites. Thanks to Monica Frisell, my assistant on this shoot.
Melissa and Zen a really fun couple to be around. We had a very playful portrait session on Friday at the university of Washington campus. We headed there to see the famous cherry trees which are already in full bloom. They are amazing to see at this time of year. No wonder the Japanese make viewing flowers a national past time. “Hanami is an important Japanese custom and is held all over Japan in spring. Hanami literally means viewing flowers, but it generally indicates cherry blossom viewing. It’s said that the origin of hanami dates back to more than one thousand years ago when aristocrats enjoyed looking at beautiful cherry blossoms and wrote poems.” Zena and Melissa also brought along some toys and Monica Frisell and I had a great time playing out a number of games with them. Here are a few of my favorites from the day.

Last weekend I got to spend some time with Vinnie and Jeff down at the Ballard Locks where we made some pictures in the beautiful sunshine. Vinnie and Jeff and getting married down in the San Francisco Bay area around the beginning of May. Originally we planned for Golden Gardens but it turned out there was some kind of car rally going on so we moved over to the Ballard Locks. (” The Hiram M. Chittenden Locks, built in 1911 and often nicknamed the Ballard Locks, provides a link for boats between the salt water of Puget Sound and the fresh water of the Ship Canal, which connects eastward to Lake Union and Lake Washington.” from their website) It worked out well as it is a beautiful park to stroll in on a sunny day. They brought their dog Popcorn and he was great to photograph as well. Here a few of the pictures from our day together. Thanks to my wife Jana again for helping out with the lighting.
