San Francisco Wedding Photography | Group Picture at Town Hall
January 5th, 2010
Connie Wong and Alex Wang were married on Sunday Dec 27th a little more than a week ago. The wedding and reception took place at a venerable old San Francisco institution called the Town Hall Restaurant. Towards the end of the evening we cleared out some tables and chairs and got everyone in attendance together for a large group wedding picture right there in the center of the restaurant. I shot a number of frames but these two seem to be the best as far as exposure and best number of people looking good.
This one above one is cropped a little too tight on the here, but the original has all the details. Which one looks best to you?
You are welcome to leave comments below. Some time over the coming weeks when the editing and processing is done, I will post a gallery of the highlights of this fun San Francisco wedding here on the blog. This picture reminds me how fantastic the food at the Town Hall Restaurant tasted. Check it out next time you are in San Francisci. It is at 342 Howard Street, S.F. CA 415.908.3611. Bella Baby Belly Pictures to Baby Pictures of Baby Harper
January 4th, 2010

Belly Bump Picture made on Sunday…….
…on Tuesday she arrived as a newborn baby. Above baby picture shows bella baby Harper at six days of age. She is so amazing to see. My youngest daughter Claire is now 7 1/2 years old so it has been a while since I have been with such a cute baby. Actually there have been a number of other cute babies since then but each one seems so special.
If you have been following this blog, a few weeks ago Molly and April came into the studio on a Sunday in the beginning of December for a baby belly picture session. Two days later their very bella baby daughter, Harper McAllister Sather was born. After 5 more days later I dropped their house by to make some newborn baby pictures of her to complete the second half of the before and after photos. . Talk about good timing. Here are our first but not our last newborn baby photographs of her. Below are some more baby pictures from the same session. ( Although baby pictures are not very common on this blog, they will occasionally make an appearance. After all, first comes love, then comes marriage, then comes the couple with a baby carriage…..)
Molly with Harper in her arms. I have been returning to photographing with an old Hasselblad and black and white film and I have to say I really enjoy the results. Not that I will give up on digital, but film is back in my arsenal of photographic tools.
I love the baby yawn pictures.

Wedding Photography Panorama at Tyee Yacht Club
December 4th, 2009

Sarah Hess and Judah Stevenson, standing on the dock right, pose with all of their family and friends, just after their heart warming wedding ceremony, for a large group panoramic wedding photograph on the deck and dock of the Tyee Yacht Club on Seattle’s Lake Union. I do not know how to start to tell you how great a wedding day they had. I am about midway through the process of editing their wedding photos and so I thought I would lead off coverage of their wedding photography with the large group wedding portrait. It seems a little small on a computer monitor compared to the 3 foot long print I just made. Such are the limitations of the digital world. You can kind of get the idea though that this was one very happy group, celebrating the marriage of two beautiful people on a clear and wonderful fall day. A selection of highlight photos from the wedding will be posted here when the editing is finally completed.
Large Group Wedding Panorama of Mike and Jody
November 30th, 2009

The wedding ceremony of Mike Zawacki + Jody Sanders took place at St. Benedict Church in Wallingford and immediately afterwards everyone headed towards the back of the church and I headed up to the choir loft. I usually like to do these large group wedding photographs with my panoramic camera outdoors but the weather was not cooperating. Despite the threat of rain, St. Benedict Church had a lot of light inside so it was not too difficult to make the black and white wedding portrait of everyone at the wedding. After the photo we all headed out for the reception at the Edgewater Hotel.
The photos looks even better when printed 36 inches long.
Panoramic Wedding Photography Darrah and Jason’s Wedding
November 21st, 2009

Jason Parker + Darrah Barth were married at the beach at Golden Gardens September on a blustery and rainy Sunday and after the ceremony the weather cooperated. It had been raining just before during the ceremony, but as typical, the rain came and went and it was clear enough for us all to come out on the beach and get together for a panoramic group portrait.

Just after Kathy Minnis and Chris Olson’s wedding ceremony on the dock at the Lake Union Crew Boathouse , all of their friends and family gathered together for a panoramic wedding portrait, while trying to ignore the little puddles of water coming up through the dock. It was all in all a gorgeous day!
Wedding Photography of Darrah and Jason’s Golden Gardens Beach Wedding Celebration
November 12th, 2009

Jason Parker + Darrah Barth were married at the beach at Golden Gardens September on a blustery and rainy Sunday. We were worried about the weather. It did rain, but as typical, the rain came and went and left many open sun breaks where it was beautiful to see dramatic clouds in the skies above the waves.. Jason is a jazz musician. A trumpet player with his own quartet and just released his second album “No More, No Less” and so it was that there were a lot of musician in attendance both as guests and playing music. at the reception and later at the club Lucid for the after party reception. Jason got up with his band and sang a song of his own composition to his bride and then played some tunes to her as well. It was a very special wedding and I had a hard time editing all the great photos. Here are a some of the highlights. I have some more tucked away in a gallery at the bottom.

Below is a web gallery of a selection of some more highlights from the wedding. The rest of the photos including a slide show with some music from Jason’s new album will soon be over on the main website A Beautiful Day Photography as fast as they can be posted.
Wedding Photography Panoramic Group Portrait of Lauren and Jeremy’s Wedding
November 10th, 2009

Here is the fianl post of the wedding photographs from Lauren Bishop and Jeremy Molinaro’s wedding ceremony on September 5th. Here is the large group panorama portrait of all of their friends, family and guests. It had been raining off and on all day and I was afraid we would not be able to do this shot. They were married outdoors, and because of the rain the ceremony took place under a huge tent. But then just as the ceremony was ending and Lauren and Jeremy were walking down the aisly as a married couple the sun burst out of the clouds and we got to to this portrait of everyone there. In fact the only problem was the sun was so bright a lot of people had their eyes closed. All in all it is one successful portrait. I wish you all could get to see the original print which is 36 inches long. The detail is stunning.
