On July 20th, one of those sunny and hot days of the past summer, Samantha Graff and Christopher Anderson were married in the Grotto at Saint Edwards State Park in Kenmore. The Grotto is a secluded beautiful garden and outdoor stone sanctuary on the grounds of the former Catholic seminary. The park’s meadows and forest trails was the perfect setting for Sam and Chris and the hidden grotto is a very special place for a wedding ceremony. The 316-acre property has a forest canopy of Coast Douglas-fir, Western Redcedar, Bigleaf Maple, Pacific Madrone and Western Hemlock and was sold to Washington State in 1977 and converted into a State Park. There are a whole lot of wonderful pictures from their day and a slideshow is at the bottom of this post. But here are some of my favorites.
Below is a slide show with the complete set of wedding photography highlights from Sam and Chris’ wedding. Click on toggle thumbnails to hide them; to start just click on the right arrow on the image.
Although I have photographed a number of weddings at the adjacent Bastyr University Chapel, I had never photographed one at the nearby Grotto at Saint Edward State Park in Kenmore, Washington, until last Saturday. Sam Graff and Chris Anderson had a beautiful day starting out with some fog in the morning but the sun broke through just as we started to make some pictures. they are a beautiful couple and were completely relaxed the whole day and it was a lot of fun being around them and their friends and family. I just want to post a handful of sneak peek pictures now and will soon finished the edit and post a whole lot more.
