Engagement Photography Session at the Olympic Sculpture Park, Seattle
January 4th, 2012
Many couples traditionally get engaged over the Christmas and New Year’s Holidays as evidenced by the huge increase in the number of couples contacting me to photograph their up coming wedding. This was the first time I got to witness the actual engagement moment.
Rick contacted me and told me he was gong to give Erin an engagement ring and pop the question the day after Christmas. He asked if I would tag along and take some photographs to document the moment. I was delighted to accept his proposal. Here is a selection of pictures from that day we spent at the Olympic Sculpture Park. the day was kind of grey but at least it was not raining. Of course if you were waiting to hear Erin happily agreed to Rick’s proposal.

Blue Ribbon Cooking Wedding of Tegan and Chad
November 30th, 2011
Intrepid is the word that comes to mind when I think of Tegan Wallace and Chad Lindhorst. Bold, dauntless, greathearted, gutsy, and undauntable are synonyms of intrepid and that is what you would have to be to schedule your outdoor wedding on October 1st in Seattle. They selected one of their favorite places near their home to do it, the Washington Park Arboretum Meadow. I call them intrepid because they had no backup plans for a tent in case of rain. Tegan got ready at Blue Ribbon Cooking, where the reception was going to be, and as we headed out for the park, there was a light sprinkling of drops.
In fact skies were grey and threatening at the beginning of the day. Off to the west was a huge, dark cloud hanging over the Olympics. But the rain held off and in fact the sun peeked out after the ceremony as we made some pictures. The rest of the day was beautiful and we made a lot of pctures at different locations of the Arboretum including the one above on the foot bridge over the roadway. I love those old lamp posts. Tegan and Chad are one very lucky couple, but they are also a lot of fun to hang out with. I almost for got to mention how funny there vows wre. They are a really sweet and fun couple.

Laurel Creek Manor Wedding of Jocelyn and Stephen
November 24th, 2011
September 25th started out as a grey day and then it became a rainy day. Not so unusual in the Puget Sound area for late September but the garden of Laurel Creek Manor was where Jocelyn Byers and Stephen Randalf Jaeger were hoping to be married surrounded by the beautiful flowers and greenery. So they moved the ceremony indoors. We were warm and dry inside as the rain poured down outside. A funny thing happened towards the end of the ceremony. Just as they were proclaimed husband and wife, the rain ceased and brilliant sunshine burst through the clouds. As Jocelyn and Stephen walked down the aisle and came out into the daylight the sun kissed them on both cheeks with its rays. Jocelyn and Stephen are one joyful couple and it was a pleasure to hang out with them and their friends. Monica Frisell and I had a great time photographing their day and we got a good number of wonderful moments preserved in these pictures. Here is a set of our favorites.

St. Mark’s Cathedral & Mayflower Park Hotel Wedding of Leigh Anne & Lindsey
November 17th, 2011
Leigh Anne Freeman was in a bar one day with some friends and they discussing whether she should cut her Fauxhawk. They could not agree so she decided to ask a stranger and she went up to the bar. The stranger she picked out from among the people at the bar happened to be Lindsey McKeen. Leigh Anne & Lindsey have been in a conversation ever since. In the middle of September they got married at Saint Mark’s Episcopal Cathedral on Capital Hill. Both of their families and many of their friends were in attendance on a wonderful clear September day as the summer continued to hold on. After the ceremony we made some pictures at the Cathedral and then headed downtown to the Mayflower Park Hotel for the reception. What a wonderful celebration of their wedding. They had a room, actually a suite, upstairs that Leigh Anne negotiated with the hotel management when they booked the venue. Here a some of my favorite highlights from a wonderful wedding on a beautiful day.

DeLille Cellars Wedding Preview of Aaron and Miracal’s Wedding Pictures
November 1st, 2011
After a week of rain here in the Pacific Northwest, signaling the start of a cool wet winter, it was very pleasant to experience a beautiful, mild and partly sunny afternoon on Saturday, as Miracal Bjornstrom and Aaron Watson were married at DeLille Cellars. They held the wedding ceremony inside the tent as the beautiful ground were still quite soggy, but we did get to do some photography before the ceremony in different spots around the wonderful grounds and gardens in softly filtered late afternoon sunlight. Outstanding food and service was provided by Blue Ribbon Cooking & Culinary Center. Here are a few images to preview the rest that will come after being edited and processed.
