The Crystal Mountain wedding of Sarah and Stephen was spectacular with Mount Rainier in the background during the ceremony and her again as the backdrop for the large group wedding portrait with everyone at the wedding in one huge picture. I just gave Sarah her 12x 36″ black and white panoramic print of this image which they will get framed when they settle on their new house. Crystal Mountain has to be one of my all time favorite places for a wedding panoramic portrait.

At my August 18th destination wedding on top of the Crystal Mountain Resort, the weather was warm but the sun was veiled behind some high clouds most of the day when  Sarah McWilliams and Stephen Brownell said their vows in sight of Mount Rainier. It was still a glorious sight from atop of the 6,872 foot high peak of  Crystal Mountain near Mount Rainier Nation Park, Washington. Sarah and Stephen and friends and family stayed there for a few days and had a blast. the day of the wedding there was a beer festival going on and a number of the wedding party dropped in to tast some brews. The reception in the lodge down below was wonderful with live music and a lot of dancing. These guys really know how to put on a fun wedding for all. I especially enjoyed walking back to the lodge at the end of the evening with Sarah and steve an seeing how their wedding bed was decorated with flowers and ballons. Here are some of my favorite images from the day. Below the highlights  is a slideshow of a larger set of pictures. Here is a link to a web gallery with all of their Seattle wedding pictures.

As wedding photography panoramas go, there is something special about a panorama photograph of a mountain with an elevation of 14,411 ft. With 26 major glaciers Mount Rainier is the most heavily glaciated peak in the lower 48 states with a summit topped by two volcanic craters, each more than 1,000 ft in diameter. Mt. Rainier is  considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world.

It is also one of the most beautiful mountains in the Pacific Northwest and  Laura Feuerborn and Nathan Fritz along with their families and friends  said their wedding vows in plain  sight of the summit on August 9th from the top of  Crystal Mountain ski resort. Afterwards, everyone assembled together for a group portrait with the great peak in the background. This goes into my file of favorite wedding panoramas.

On August 9th, Laura Feuerborn and Nathan Fritz were married at the top of the 6,872 foot high peak of the Crystal Mountainski resort near Mount Rainier. Both Laura and Nathan who work in public schools are into hiking and thought the lofty heights of Crystal Mountain would be an ideal place for them to get married. Indeed it turned out to be a beautiful place and day for them to celebrate their love with family and friends in attendance. Their families had came in from the mid-west and were very happy to be away from the 100F + temperatures they have been having all summer.

Below some of my favorite highlights  is a slideshow of a whole bunch more pictures. Here is a link to a web gallery with all of their wedding pictures.

Many thanks to officiant Elaine Way who performed a wonderful service and to  Monica Frisell who was my second photographer.

For Katie and Brian’s wedding. Monica Frisell was the principal photographer, and I assisted. I had photographed Sarah and Steve’s wedding the day before and stayed overnight. This was the third wedding this August we photographed  on top of the 6,872 foot high peak of the  Crystal Mountain Resort near Mount Rainier Nation Park, Washington, but I will never tire of the view from there of Mt Rainier.

Monica had the great pleasure of joining Katie and Brian on top of Crystal Mountain on August 19, 2012. It was a bright clear day and the sun was strong. It was really fun to be with this happy couple as they exchanged vows in front of a very small group of friends and family. With only 14 guests it was incredibly intimate. But because it was so small we were all able to enjoy a beautiful lunch at the Crystal Mountain Summit Cafe. Here are some of her favorite photos from that beautiful day!”
