As wedding photography panoramas go, there is something special about a panorama photograph of a mountain with an elevation of 14,411 ft. With 26 major glaciers Mount Rainier is the most heavily glaciated peak in the lower 48 states with a summit topped by two volcanic craters, each more than 1,000 ft in diameter. Mt. Rainier is  considered one of the most dangerous volcanoes in the world.

It is also one of the most beautiful mountains in the Pacific Northwest and  Laura Feuerborn and Nathan Fritz along with their families and friends  said their wedding vows in plain  sight of the summit on August 9th from the top of  Crystal Mountain ski resort. Afterwards, everyone assembled together for a group portrait with the great peak in the background. This goes into my file of favorite wedding panoramas.

On August 9th, Laura Feuerborn and Nathan Fritz were married at the top of the 6,872 foot high peak of the Crystal Mountainski resort near Mount Rainier. Both Laura and Nathan who work in public schools are into hiking and thought the lofty heights of Crystal Mountain would be an ideal place for them to get married. Indeed it turned out to be a beautiful place and day for them to celebrate their love with family and friends in attendance. Their families had came in from the mid-west and were very happy to be away from the 100F + temperatures they have been having all summer.

Below some of my favorite highlights  is a slideshow of a whole bunch more pictures. Here is a link to a web gallery with all of their wedding pictures.

The ring bearer wore a bowtie.

Many thanks to officiant Elaine Way who performed a wonderful service and to  Monica Frisell who was my second photographer.

For Katie and Brian’s wedding. Monica Frisell was the principal photographer, and I assisted. I had photographed Sarah and Steve’s wedding the day before and stayed overnight. This was the third wedding this August we photographed  on top of the 6,872 foot high peak of the  Crystal Mountain Resort near Mount Rainier Nation Park, Washington, but I will never tire of the view from there of Mt Rainier.

Monica had the great pleasure of joining Katie and Brian on top of Crystal Mountain on August 19, 2012. It was a bright clear day and the sun was strong. It was really fun to be with this happy couple as they exchanged vows in front of a very small group of friends and family. With only 14 guests it was incredibly intimate. But because it was so small we were all able to enjoy a beautiful lunch at the Crystal Mountain Summit Cafe. Here are some of her favorite photos from that beautiful day!”

On Thursday Laura and Nathan were married on top of the Crystal Mountain ski resort near Mount Rainier. Both Laura and Nathan who work in public schools are into hiking and thought the lofty heights of Crystal Mountain would be an ideal place for them to get married. Indeed it turned out to be a beautiful place and day for them to celebrate their love with family and friends in attendence. Their families had came in from the mid-west and were very happy to be away from the 100F + temperatures they have been having all summer.

Elaine Way was the officiant and performed a wonderful service. We still need to go through all of the pictures Monica Frisell and I shot but here are a few to preview what will be coming sometime soon.

Immediately after Ann and Jonathan’s wedding ceremony outside the Summit House on top of Crystal Mountain, everyone gathered together for a group panorama portrait and what a grand panorama it is with Mount Rainier right there in the background. Ther were no clouds at this point so the view made the mountain look so close although within a hour it was socked in.

Just to the left of Ann in the white hat center, you may see someone is holding up a laptop computer hooked up to a connection using Skype to show Jonathan’s mom what was going on since she was unable to attend the ceremony. It is fitting that her virtual self is pictured in the group panoram portrait.

Their 12×36″ print was finished today and it is fantastic to see the details. Here is a link Crystal Mountain Wedding to the rest of the photos from their wedding that I previously highlighted on this blog. Congratulations to both Ann and Jonathan.
