Right after the wedding ceremony of Ainslie Wagner and Derrick Clark at the chapel at Roche Harbor Resort on San Juan Island, everyone walked down to the Hotel De Haro and I climbed up to the second stage and photographed the whole wedding party including all of the guests. I love this view with the harbor in the background. What a wonderful day it was.

On October 18th, Jana and I photographed the destination wedding of Ainslie Wagner and Derrick Clark at the Roche Harbor Resort on San Juan Island. The Hotel de Haro there is the state’s oldest continually operating hotel in business since 1886. The resort was formerly a company town surrounding the Tacoma and Roche Harbor Lime Company, which was incorporated in 1886. Lime production was a major industry and for a time it was the largest lime works east of the Mississippi. Many of the historic structures remain along with some modern resort facilities.
Ainslie and Derrick’s wedding was very romantic and perfect in every way. Although the weather was rainy the days leading up to the wedding day, on the morning of the 18th it was clear and sunny. The wedding ceremony was in the chapel on the hill above the harbor. Their friends and families were a lot of fun to be around. Jana and I had a blast and the weekend was one we will remember for a long time.
Here are some of my favorite highlights from their wedding day. At the bottom is a slideshow of a more complete set of images of their wedding.
Thanks to my wife Jana for once again being my fantastic second photographer.

We have been having kind of a rainy summer again this year but it did not seem to matter much to Abby Timms and Ryan Conner who were married last month at the Roche Harbor Resort on San Juan Island. Of course it rained most of the day but we had plenty of beautiful umbrellas provided by the wonderful people at Roche Harbor Resort.
The ceremony had to be moved from the garden in front of the Haro Hotel to the little chapel but that worked out well. We got a break in the showers for a wedding panorama. At one point during the reception we even went for a walk in the rain on the dock and made some more pictures under umbrellas. It was a special moment when a yacht salesman invited us aboard a 92′ yacht. He had just sold in 2 days for $9.6 million. He was so happy he invited us to come and take some pictures aboard. I love the picture of them in the bow of the yacht. You can see the rain and how wet they are but are still enjoying the moment. It was a glorious Pacific Northwest wedding day indeed.
Here are some of my favorite highlights of the day in pictures. Below is a slideshow of a whole bunch more. Special thanks for assistance to associate photographer Monica Frisell and to Jillian Heinz-Crouch, the event coordinator at Roche Harbor.

Abby Timms and Ryan Conner were married at the Roche Harbor Resort on San Juan Island last month and of course it rained. We have been having that kind of summer again this year. It did not seem to matter to them though. There was even a brief time when the downpour abated and we could get everyone out together for the large group panorama portrait you see above with some of the marina and historic port buildings in the background. the rest of the pictures form their wedding will appear here very soon.
