After their garden wedding  at Fireseed Catering was washed out due to a rain shower, Ellie Humphries and Brian Wisniewski moved indoors. But not long after the ceremony was over the rain halted and we got everyone to come out for a large group wedding panoramic portrait. I was very glad we could pull this one out.

Ellie Humphries and Brian Wisniewski  were looking forward to a fall wedding on Whidbey Island . The day would be glorious if the fine weather we had all summer into October held true. The mid-October wedding day started out promising and they decided to go for the garden wedding site at Fireseed Catering.  The chairs were set up in the garden and everything looked good until the time came for the ceremony to begin. Then some clouds come over and in the middle of the ceremony the rain came. Ellie and Brian are both great swimmers so a little rain is not something they were afraid of. The ceremony continued briefly with the help of an umbrella but soon they bowed to the inevitable and headed indoors. After a brief moment to dry off a little they began the ceremony again. They and their guests took it with great spirits and a lot laughs at how it came to pass.

The wedding went on again as the rain hit the roof of the hall with a fury. It ended shortly after the ceremony ended. It shall remain a memorable wedding in my book.

Thanks to Dave of Fireseed Catering for everything but especially the wonderful food, Tobey Nelson of Vases Wild for the beautiful flowers, Marc Matsui, the cool DJ from  Integral DJs  who kept spinning great tunes and  my second photographer Monica Frisell.

In the same waterfront location of Caleb Goad and Morgan Neudorfer‘s wedding ceremony we asked everyone present to assemble together for a large group wedding portrait. Puget Sound and the Olympic Mountains ar visible in the background for this wedding panorama.

Caleb Goad and Morgan Neudorfer were married at Morgan’s family beach house near Greenbank on Whidbey Island on a beautiful warm clear day in mid-September. The weather was  warm and  sunny and beautiful like we had so often this past glorious summer. Perfect light for shooting an outdoor wedding by the water. Puffy clouds floating by to diffuse the light and vanquish the glare. So nice to remember those days at this time of year as winter rain and cold begin to set in.

Morgan and Caleb are a wonderful young couple with a beautiful baby daughter named McKenna. Morgan loves Mckenna so much she had her name tattooed on her right arm. At the start of the wedding ceremony, Morgan carried McKenna in her arms as she walked up the aisle with her Dad. As she came up the aisle,  Caleb was brought to wipe a tear from his eye.  I was touched at how much love was present there between them.

The view of the Olympics all day was a grand sight especially as the sun went and set behind them. Thanks to my wife Jana for her assistance as second photographer at this wedding on Whidbey Island. What follows are my favorite highlights from the wedding and below them is a slideshow of a complete set of  wedding pictures.

An Autumn wedding in the Pacific Northwest can be glorious with the fall foliage exploding. An outdoor wedding in the fall can be wonderful but is subject to rain.  Ellie Humphries and Brian Wisniewski who were married yesterday were aware this fact but decided to go ahead. It was a beautiful sunny morning on Whidbey Island. It was looking good for most of the day but not long after they began their wedding ceremony in the garden it started to come down. They took it in great spirits. After all both Ellie and Brian are great swimmers so a little rain is not something to be afraid of. They stopped the ceremony and invited their guests to beat a path to the hall where they began the ceremony again after a brief moment to dry off a little. The wedding went on again as the rain hit the roof of the hall with a fury. It ended shortly after the ceremony ended. All who were present now have a great story to remember the day. Want to thank Dave of Fireseed Catering for everything especially the great food, Tobey Nelson of Vases Wild for the beautiful flowers, Marc Matsui, the cool DJ from  Integral DJs  who kept spinning great tunes and  my assistant photographer Monica Frisell .

This is just a preview of the many pictures we made yesterday. They start with their first look, the moment of the ceremony when they decided to move indoors and a couple more later. It will be a while before we get all of them finished so this should an idea of what will come hold you untill then.
