seattle wedding photographer and a panoramic wedding picture

Malim and Charles were married in a western-style wedding ceremony in the Top of the Town ballroom at the Sorrento Hotel in November were moved all the chairs and made room for everyone to assemble for this  panoramic wedding picture.

Right after we took this picture they changed clothes for a Korean wedding or Paebeck ceremony in the Penthouse of the Sorrento Hotel. I really like how this panoramic wedding portrait came out. We set up some additional lighting and the 12×36″ print we delivered looks great.

Special  thanks to my assistant photographer Monica Frisell.

Volunteer Park Wedding Portrait with Seattle Space Needle

Malim Park and Charles Stoner chose Seattle’s first boutique hotel the Sorrento Hotel as the venue for their wedding ceremonies last month. A western-style wedding ceremony in the Top of the Town ballroom was first. Then they changed clothes for a Korean wedding or Paebeck ceremony in the Penthouse of the Sorrento Hotel.

They wore custom Korean Hanbock or traditional Korean dress to their Paebeck ceremony. In short, the Korean Paebaek Ceremony symbolizes the joining of  families, not just the bride and groom. The couple has tea and then show their respect for their new families. The parents and other older relatives impart advice and wisdom on what it takes to make a marriage a success. They throw dates & chestnuts onto a part of the brides robe in an effort to predict the number & sex of their future offspring. Chestnuts are believed to predict the number of boys and dates predict the number of girls. The ceremony then ended with the groom giving the bride a piggy-back ride, symbolizing his strength and how he will be responsible for taking care of the bride. I am posting just one picture from each ceremony here now but there will be more when the editing is complete.

Below are my favorite pictures from their wedding and below them is a slideshow of a more complete set of  their wedding pictures. Special  thanks to my assistant photographer Monica Frisell. Here is a link to the web gallery with all of Malim and Charles  wedding pictures.

The Sorrento Hotel has wonderful Italianate architecture making it a romantic location for a wedding. Malim Park and Charles Stoner chose Seattle’s first and longest-operating boutique hotel as the venue for their wedding ceremonies last weekend.  They had a western-style wedding ceremony in the Top of the Town ballroom and afterwards a Korean wedding ceremony  or Paebeck ceremony in the Penthouse.

Malim and Charles wore custom Korean Hanbock or traditional Korean dress to their Paebeck ceremony. The wedding was last Saturday and Malim and Charles are now in Maui for their honeymoon. I promised them I would put up a few of my favorites for them to preview and to hold them until the rest are processed.  Here they are.

Malim and Charles in the Sorrento Hotel Seattle front courtyard

Thanks to my assistant photographer Monica Frisell who made the day a breeze.

Sarah Dunne and Robert Kettle and all of their family and friends out in front of the St. Barbara Parish Church in Black Diamond, WA right after exchanging their vows on July 6th.

Sarah Dunne and Robert Kettle were married last month and were featured in The New York Times in the Weddings/Celebrations section the next day:”Sarah Anne Dunne and Cmdr. Robert Edward Kettle were married Friday in the historic church building of the St. Barbara Parish in Black Diamond, Wash. The Rev. David H. Young, a Roman Catholic priest and the church’s pastor, performed the ceremony.” Continue reading here.  The above image is of them leaving the church just at the end of the ceremony. St. Barbara Church is in its one hundred and first year which is pretty old for this area.
Sarah works in Seattle as the legal director, overseeing the legal program and litigation, for the American Civil Liberties Union of Washington Foundation. Bob works as a naval intelligence officer stationed at the Pentagon and is the legislative liaison to Congress for naval intelligence issues.
As promised I went through all of the pictures and selected some favorites to highlight here. It was difficult to choose just a few because these guys were so photogenic so there is a larger set of 65 in a slideshow at the bottom of this post.
